The Barbados Sea Turtle Project emphasizes partnerships in achieving its goals. We are an active member of the Wider Caribbean Sea Turtle Conservation Network (WIDECAST) and host WIDECAST’s Marine Turtle Tagging Centre (MTTC). We work closely with the Fisheries Division (who have responsibility for sea turtles under the Fisheries Act), Coastal Zone Management Unit, the Barbados Coast Guard, the Barbados Police Service, the National Conservation Commission, the Central Veterinary Clinic (particularly Dr. Gus Reader), and the Barbados Tourism Authority. In addition, the BSTP has long standing collaborations with hotels and staff through the Hotline response that it provides.
